Alcoholic Failure

The interpretation of the alcoholic's failure to remember events prior to the present or the very 'temporary' sobering up period is incomplete. Being hopelessly intoxicated with alcohol will disable the senses totally and create the illusion of forgetting. The oblivion. In reality, it involves facts that can never be known in the first place.

Another more subtle meaning is simply the suspension of common sense. Just forgetting to be sensible. Alcohol distorts perception to the extent of disabling self-awareness and the survival instinct. The performance of actions under the influence of alcohol that are dangerous to the individual acts like any other mind-altering drug and results in permanent delusion.
